Happy Birthday Zoo Trip

Monday, I turned 27 years old, which feels so old to me, but that might be because in addition to celebrating my birthday, we celebrated Luke's birthday of turning 2! He is my birthday twin and I've decided celebrating 2 years old is much more exciting than 27. We took a trip to the zoo as part of the celebration. It was so much fun! Before going, we had an impromptu photo shoot with Caleb in his football shirt. He is getting so big! He just this week decided to roll both ways with ease and when I set him down, he is in a whole new spot when I return. Perhaps it's practice for the crawling that is sure to come...which means cleaning floors and babyproofing...maybe he can just keep rolling for a bit :) I think I've just admitted to being lazy :)

Because He's So Cute!

Bringing the laundry downstairs with empty water bottles and a baby Caleb

He's spotted a cute baby in the mirror!

There's a smile!
(Would have been a great picture had it been centered and not cut off his body, but I was too busy looking at him instead of looking through the camera)

4 months old!

Caleb is four months old today! He is getting so big and has such a sweet personality. I took him to the doctor yesterday to check out a stubborn diaper rash and they turned it into a well check visit as well. He was seen by my pediatrician as a child, but the doctor was so quick to look him over I never got a chance to tell him that I remembered him. Caleb weighed in at 14 lbs and 10 ounces and is 26 inches long. The doctor commented that Caleb seemed like an easy-going baby because of how quick he was to smile. He also told me that he was teething, two top teeth were starting to move forward. That might explain his new found love of biting our shoulders when we hold him. He also bites and chews on everything he can get his hands on. He is mostly happy and squeals loudly when he is very delighted or excited about something, such as watching himself in the mirror or when mommy talks to him. He started grabbing his feet a few days ago and likes to hold on to them when mommy changes his diaper. He consistently rolls from his back to his tummy, but then gets stuck on his tummy, hasn't consistently figured that one out. He also says what sounds like "mama" when he cries. It melts my heart and makes me think his first word may be mama.
