Joshua has a baby brother!

An update has been long overdue, but we wanted to wait until we had been told for sure that everything was looking great with Caleb's development. So without further ado...here is a picture of Caleb Michael:

This is from a few weeks ago, but it is the best photo so far of the little guy. He is doing a headstand with his legs and feet at the top of the picture. More recently, we also got a picture of him waving his hand:

A little story behind the name Caleb: We didn't think that we were having a boy, so we hadn't really talked about names. When it was confirmed that we were having a boy, we started tossing out names, but none of them were really sticking as the "right fit". We were at my parent's house brainstorming names out loud with the family, when Natalie said, "what about Caleb?". I immediately thought about the story in the Bible of Joshua and Caleb, the two good spies, the ones that came back with a good report of the promised land, the only ones that were able to enter the promised land with their descendants. And it clicked. It was the perfect name. It was Joshua's brother. I then read the story that night with Eddie and I loved to read about Caleb's character. Numbers 14:24 says, "But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.  After we had named Joshua, we had done the same thing with reading the book of Joshua and seeing the great leadership and devotion to the Lord that he possessed. And I love that Joshua blessed Caleb with the land that God promised to him. Joshua 14:13-14 "Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance. So, Hebron has belonged to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite ever since, because he followed the Lord, the God of Israel, wholeheartedly." I can't wait until Caleb is old enough to explain to him the story of his brother's life and how he got his name.

Now for some more pictures! Eddie set up the crib today with the help of his Dad. And we bought the bedding this past week, so here are some pictures of the room:

Looking good! I love the little sea turtle "Squirt" from Finding Nemo.
A stuffed monkey is sitting in the car seat.

The organizer, slowly being filled.

Close-up of the top of the organizer. I still need to put a picture in the frame.

Crush the sea turtle and Caleb's giraffe hanging out in the stroller.
(Each child will have their own giraffe, just like Joshua had one)

Decor on one of the walls. I love it!

And a belly shot for Sonya.
