6 Month Well-Check

Caleb had his six month well check on Wednesday and weighed in at 17 lbs 4 ounces (50th %ile). He is 28 inches long (90th %ile) and definitely does not like the doctor. It may have something to do with the shots each time he goes, but this time she smiled at him when she came in the room and he let out a whimper and then screamed the whole way through the exam. I think stranger anxiety is settling in. It was so sad because each time he cries for his exam, though not usually as loudly as this last time, and when the doctor asks questions such as, "Does he giggle and babble?" I just say, "Yes, I promise he does a lot usually" and feel this pressure to prove it because he only cries around her. I was told next appointment will involve no shots so maybe there will be less tears then, but stranger anxiety will probably be stronger so she may never believe that he really is a happy baby. Caleb also started sitting up this week. He topples over very easily, but he is getting stronger. No crawling yet, though Daddy tries very hard to get him to crawl. Mommy is content to wait on crawling.

 Hi Mama

Cute litte face.
Sonya, for some reason this face reminds me of Ben. Maybe because he smirks like that sometimes?

Caleb's First Food

Caleb turns six months tomorrow and in honor of that, I couldn't wait any longer and decided he needed to try some food! As the pictures show, he LOVED it!

He was such a sweet eater...

And then he realized that he could grab the spoon!

Yummy Yum!

Daddy's turn!

And a video of all the cuteness. Excuse our first time parent glee :) It really was so very cute to see how much he loved the food.

Update in Pictures

Caleb is now over five months old and is such a happy and sweet baby boy. He is quick to smile and laugh and loves to play games such as peek-a-boo and tickle spot. His Guess Who, Pooh! book is his favorite because he can play peek-a-boo with Pooh Bear on the front of the book. He also loves to have time playing on the floor.  He is aching to crawl and tries very hard to do so, but he has not figured out how to combine arms up and knees up at the same time. He can do great push-ups and will turn in a circle doing them. He is also very interested in food and has sucked on raw carrots while mama is eating them, but we are holding out for the six month mark that the doctor suggested to really try eating it, due to his dairy intolerance. His teeth have yet to come in, but he is chewing, drooling, and grinding his gums all day and sometimes in the night. He also chews his toes any chance he gets. We love this precious little boy!

Silly Baby!
