Caleb is 2!

With Silas' arrival fast approaching I decided it's time I caught up on this blog. I have not been good about taking photos and the ones I do take are often blurry with my phone, so excuse the photos. I got in a video kick for awhile so I have a lot of video that captured all of these events.  Caleb turned 2 in November. My sweet little boy is not so little anymore. Caleb, you are full of energy and joy. You love to cuddle and will often come up and say, "mama I want to cuddle you". You call me Mama most of the time, but often copy Dada and say things like, "Hi Sweetie Pie, Cutie pie, or Beautiful". You LOVE Curious George, Mickey Mouse, and more recently, Handy Manny and Daniel Tiger. You like to paint (with dot paints), color with crayons (and pens and markers if you can get your hands on them),    play ball of every sort (baseball (you love your mitt and bat and to wear a hat to pitch), soccer (you kick really well), football (you can already throw a spiral), basketball (making shots is fun) and golf ("just like George"). You love music and to sing songs. I catch you singing new ones all the time. Most recently you were singing "joy joy joy in my heart" and "trust and obey...happy, Jesus...trust and obey". You even turned on a Miles Davis jazz song on Dada's phone (technically savvy) and within 30 seconds of listening called out, "that's a trumpet!". You are a sponge. You hear or see something one time and it sticks. You are quick to say "no thank you" when offered something that you don't like, and will say, "I don't like it" when something is not going the way that you want it to. You love sweets like your Mama, but also love cucumbers and carrots. I can even lure you to eat something you don't like as much (meat) if I have a carrot waiting. You call soda "special drink" and get really excited when allowed to have some and though you like juice, you do not have it very much because as you tell me, "juice hurts my booty" and it does unfortunately give you a diaper rash and some bad gas. You love wrestling with Dada and though he tickles you to death and you are out of breath from laughing and say, "no, stop", as soon as he stops you are running back saying, "again!" You love animals and want to cuddle every one that you see. You especially love to visit the horses near our house and Grammy and Poppy's dogs. You love fishing. For Christmas you were given a little Shakespeare fishing pole with a plastic fish (you call it a gooey fish like they have on Mickey) and you love to cast it and reel it in, over and over and over. You have become so good at casting that we usually send you outside to do it so you won't break anything. You love bubbles, in the bath or just blowing them outside. Can't ever have enough of them. You like to read books. When I get a chance to take you to the library, you run around pulling books off the shelves and bring them to me to read to you. At home, you like your Bible and especially like the story of Noah. You think it's very fun to clap your hands when God shut the door of the Ark. You are really enjoying your class at Bible Study Fellowship and most of the time will retell some of the activities you did in class. This last week you told me you ate cereal (cheerios), blew bubbles, saw a balloon (cloud of God), and learned about Moses. You really like pizza, specifically from Costco. Though we don't shop there too often, whenever we go you ask for pizza and some special drink. And you will bounce around in your seat in excitement waiting for it to come. You like to show off your talents and when Skyping with Amma and "Grandpapa" or Grammy and Poppy, you will start the conversation with "watch this!" and then run off to shoot a basketball or run and slide. You like cars, buses, trucks and motorcycles. You point them out on the road and get really excited when you spot a "choo choo". You are also a big helper. You love to help Mama sort the laundry, you love sweeping, and you really like helping Dada, whether it be in the yard digging with your shovel or using your tools alongside him to "fix" things. We love you so much little bug. Here are some pictures from your birthday and other recent activities.

Ice cream and chocolate chip cookies on your birthday!

Curious George cake at your birthday party at Grammy and Poppy's house.

Riding the carousel at Bass Pro Shops. You cried when the ride ended because you just wanted to keep going!

Mama made the bed and came back in the room to find you snuggled in.

Riding a "choo choo" in the mall. You really liked it.

Flying in an airplane ride at Adventure City for Amir's birthday party

You loved the snow Amma and Grandpapa brought from Cuyamaca.

Just before you threw it at Mama's head. Silly boy!

Mama went to check the mail and came back to find you inside your toy bin. Don't mind the sticker telling you not to do exactly what you are doing. ;)

Fun with dot paints!

Helping Dada fix the handle of the front door.

You were an excellent helper with your screwdriver. You would put it up on the handle and say, "turn turn turn...aw, man, how this works?"
